I had my second anxiety attack several months after that, even after finally getting a therapist. In the year that’s followed, I haven’t had any more anxiety attacks, but I have battled intense, frustrating, and overwhelming anxiety. It felt like an alien had taken up residence in my body and the newness and strangeness of being so overwhelmed and unable to “solve” it only added to my anxiety.
