Happy Easter! Here is this week’s feast for your senses.

READ

  • I’ve been so encouraged to stumble across posts online outlining ways to support yourself and others during the pandemic. I came across another good one this week titled, 8 Ways To Support Your Friends Emotionally When You’re Also Struggling. I don’t know about you, but I can definitely relate! I hope you find something useful if you give it a read.

    • “This is a balancing act and it’s never perfect, but allow yourself to be vulnerable and share what’s going on too, especially if you’ve been having a rough time. “It may never feel like the right time to lean on your friend if they are stressed, but give yourself permission to share what is going on for you too,” says Morse. “Your friend won’t know you need support until you make that known.”"

LISTEN

  • On this day in 1968, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was murdered just one day after giving his “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop” speech. I’ve read and watched it many times growing up and would love to invite you to listen to it today.

    • “Well, I don't know what will happen now. We've got some difficult days ahead. But it doesn't matter with me now. Because I've been to the mountaintop. And I don't mind. Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land. And I'm happy, tonight. I'm not worried about anything. I'm not fearing any man. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.”

SMELL

  • Lucky Charms are one of my favorite types of cereal and on Tiktok I stumbled across a candle maker that makes a Lucky Charms ~inspired candle! They’re sold out (whomp), but I look forward to being notified when they’re back and promptly adding it to cart. If you’re a cereal lover like me, check out the Shamrock Surprise candle from Ardent Candle.

TASTE

  • Have you made overnight French toast before? My mom used to make a blueberry version for special occasions and I had the idea to make a peach version for Easter Sunday. Unfortunately, I was too tired to prep it Saturday evening after date night, but I did make a peach compote and my partner made regular French toast that was delicious. If you have the discipline to prep (and it’s a super simple and relatively quick prep) add Peaches and Cream Overnight French Toast Casserole to your menu this week because it doesn’t have to be a holiday to enjoy something decadent.

in joy,
