I wrote about the perfect storm that is aging water infrastructure (think drinking water pipes, sewage pipes, and wastewater treatment) and climate change in a blog post this week titled America’s Water Infrastructure Problem.
“The American Water Works Association has estimated that the United States needs to invest about $1 trillion dollars over the next two decades to replace drinking water pipes and this figure doesn’t include the upgrades that will need to be made to sewage lines or treatment plants in order to handle the increased volume and variety of contaminants.”
WATCH
So, I was sick this week and I watched a lot of tv and some of the movies I had saved on Netflix. My favorite, thus far, is Sweet Girl starring Jason Momoa. I feel like I could really leave my recommendation at “Jason Momoa”, but I’ll add a bit more color. From IMDB, Sweet Girl is about “a devastated husband [who] vows to bring justice to the people responsible for his wife's death while protecting the only family he has left, his daughter.” There’s a twist that I did not see coming and really appreciated that bumped this movie up from just “Jason Momoa being badass” to something a bit deeper. Bonus: Lex Scott Davis is incredible (and incredibly beautiful!) and I hope we get to see more of her.
LISTEN
I was supposed to be at the Harry Styles: Live on Tour concert in Washington, D.C this weekend, but life had other plans (watch my blog later this week for more on that…). In honor of that missed concert, do me a favor and listen to the Fine Line album and manifest me working for Harry Styles as his ✨sustainability director✨!
TASTE
For one of our date nights last week, my boyfriend made chickpea fritters and they were so good that I can’t stop thinking about them! They were actually part of his Hello Fresh meals, so I did some digging online to see if I could find something similar. Thankfully, I came across Feel Good Foodie’s Chickpea Fritters and they look really delicious. Serve them with a Mediterranean salad and enjoy!
in joy,
