Modern Boheme | July 2021: What is the impact of eating local, in season produce on climate change?
TIP: Pin the above lists on Pinterest for easy reference!
Tips for finding in-season, local produce:
Research online what’s local in your part of the world. I have two handy graphics above, for North American summer produce. Save them to your Pinterest to refer to them later!
With your list in hand, visit your local farmer’s market. Before purchasing, consider asking how far away the food was grown and what practices were used. Best practices may be growing the produce organically or being mindful of land and water usage. It never hurts to ask and forming relationships with your local growers is an added bonus.
In the grocery store, search for the produce that may be on sale, as there is likely an abundance of it.
Next week I’ll be sharing some clean beauty recommendations to add to your arsenal. Let me know which product you’re most interested in switching to a cleaner version of in the comments below or over on Instagram!
wishing you delicious, in-season eating,
