Rebecca Ruiz writes about how The crises won't stop coming. Radical acceptance is the key to coping for Mashable. Radical acceptance is something that I’ve struggled to understand, but I really appreciate the way Ruiz breaks it down.
“Brach says that by pausing and recognizing the feeling of falling short, then practicing radical self-acceptance, we can cultivate courage, compassion, and resilience that helps us respond to challenges with greater intelligence.
When we reconnect with the caring beneath our emotions, we're better able to take care of ourselves and work with others, empathizing, collaborating, and problem-solving in times of need.”
LISTEN
I’m still on my Brené Brown podcast kick and this week I listened to Brené on Anxiety, Calm + Over/Under-Functioning. Whew, this episode kicked my butt! One thing that I really appreciate about Brené is that even though she’s done so much research on the topics she discusses, she struggles with them, too. I definitely identify with the way that she handles anxiety (you’ll have to listen to found out) and I also really appreciated her definition of calm.
TASTE
Every once in awhile, Trader Joe’s reels me in with their bread selection. I was looking for something to compliment their gnocchi and was going to get one of their baguettes before the Focaccia Bread with Roasted Tomato & Parmesan caught my eye. Wow! I reheated it in the oven and served it with a side of melty, warm, Boursin cheese. I’m warning you now to be careful, because you’ll want to turn that into your entire meal.
in joy,
